How is this different from a university international office?

University offices support thousands of students at once. We are intentionally small — one founder, one family at a time, with a real WhatsApp relationship through the semester.

Do you help with admissions or university applications?

Accepted Answer

No. We work with families after admission. Choosing schools, writing essays, and submitting applications are handled by admissions consultants or by the student directly.

Do you provide visa or immigration advice?

No. Immigration and visa filings must be handled by licensed professionals. We provide general information about what to expect at US immigration, and refer to attorneys for anything that requires a license.

Do you file taxes or apply for the SSN on my child’s behalf?

No. We explain the process, walk your child through the paperwork, and help them prepare. Filing (Form 1040-NR, ITIN, Sprintax) and the SSN application itself are done by your child or by a licensed professional where required.

Do you give legal or financial advice?

No. We are not a law firm, tax preparer, or financial adviser. For any of those, we refer families to licensed professionals we trust.

How often will I hear from you?

One parent onboarding call at the start of the semester, then a short WhatsApp update every month. Plus honest conversations if something needs your attention.

What if there is an emergency in the middle of the night?

You and your child can reach the founder directly on phone or WhatsApp. Every emergency call is treated as a priority, regardless of hour.

Will you tell me things my child doesn’t want me to know?

We are honest with parents. If something matters to your child’s safety or wellbeing, you hear about it. We are not a monitoring service, but we do not hide serious concerns.

Am I giving up my independence by using this service?

The opposite. We handle the confusing logistics so you can spend your first month on classes, community, and career — not on figuring out which bank branch to visit at 3pm on a Tuesday.

Can I talk to you privately, without my parents on the call?

Yes. Bi-weekly wellbeing check-ins are always private conversations between you and Kuvam.

Which cities do you cover?

We are available to students at any US university. Kuvam is based in New Jersey and delivers in-person support directly in New Jersey, New York, and Bloomington. In every other city we work through a vetted local partner network — your child meets that person on video before the flight, so there are no strangers on arrival day.

How much does it cost?

$500 per semester or $900 for the full year (saving $100). No hidden fees, no upsells. Optional add-ons are priced individually on request.

Do you offer refunds?

If we cancel the engagement in the first two weeks and haven’t delivered meaningful work, we refund in full. After that, we discuss based on what’s been delivered — but we prioritise a fair outcome, not a strict policy.
